Claire Pettibone Spring 2019 Presentation at New York Bridal Fashion Week

When world-renowned bridal fashion designer Claire Pettibone personally reached out to me to design and curate the sets for her Spring 2019 New York Bridal Fashion Week presentation, I was beyond honored. Working with a bridal fashion brand like hers is what I had dreamt of since starting East Made. Knowing we had to knock this one out of the park, I immediately contacted the talented floral duo, Faye & Renee, to deck out three rooms of this East Village townhome (formerly belonging to Mary Kate Olsen) in cascading florals.

Claire’s “Timeless” collection poses the question, “In this culture of on demand NOW and NEXT, what is timeless?so I wanted to incorporate design elements that have stood the test of time. Working through the night, Faye & Renee brought to life two large-scale installations in both parlor spaces of the home, one with falling chandeliers and the other with florals growing up from the woodwork. In the middle foyer, Trouvaille Bakery crafted three elaborate cakes as a focal piece, and whipped up delicious macarons for guests to enjoy. I also designed a whimsical, floating shoe staircase with shoes Claire has designed for Bella Belle and vintage sheet music to greet guests upon entry.

To further enhance all of these timeless design elements, we used antique-looking velvet ribbons from Emma Linh Co as hair bows for each of our gorgeous models, and Team Marcello Costa created vivid hair and makeup, a juxtaposition of Victorian and modern styles unique to each girl. Our models were so wonderful; one of them, Naima Moira, is a former America’s Next Top Model winner! It was such a joy to also work with Claire for two days and creatively direct and pose our models in the photos below, photographed by Sophie Kaye.

In bride magazine UK, Claire said: “I believe I have found a kindred spirit in Elizabeth Gopal of East Made Co. She did an amazing job bringing the elements of inspiration together. From the cake displays of Trouvaille Bakery pulling in elements from my Ophelia gown to create a stunning visual centrepiece, to the lush floral design and her unparalleled flat-lays, her creativity and dedication to bringing all the details together was simply sublime.

"The team of Faye and Renee really deserve a big shout-out for the incredible work they did through the night transforming the stately townhouse into a fragrant, vibrant wonderland. It was so beautiful, it literally brought tears to my eyes.”

Seeing your emotion upon bringing this presentation to life, Claire, was for me the best part. Thank you again for this opportunity to style your gorgeous creations!
