Neutral Private Estate Wedding at Foxfire Farm in Monkton, Maryland – Kirsten and Mike

Michael and Kirsten’s love story is classic Americana in so many ways,  but in a world where only 2% of new marriages in the US are between couples who started dating in high school, their story is also rare and because of that even more magical. This East Made couple attended middle school together in Long Valley, New Jersey and “officially” began dating two years later —not knowing at the time that their lives and families would be forever intertwined.

The pair both attended college together at Rutgers and after college, Kirsten became a teacher through Teach for America and Michael was drafted into the NFL as a fullback for the Detroit Lions. Following two seasons with the Lions and two seasons with the Chicago Bears, Michael now plays for the New Orleans Saints, and Kirsten has supported his career the entire way. The two are no strangers to long distance love and have spent much of the past four years apart, making their wedding weekend at Foxfire (a private horse farm estate in Monkton, Maryland) that much more special.

Kirsten always dreamed of an al fresco, family style, dinner under starry lights and worked closely with the team here at East Made Co to design a warm, intimate wedding. Inspired by subtle textured fabrics, like linen and silk, and a color palette of complex neutrals, the wedding was designed to evoke the effortless beauty of California wine country. Serendipitously, guests also got to enjoy an exquisite rainbow seen beyond the rolling hills of Monkton. What better symbol of good luck and happiness to commemorate this absolutely meaningful day?
