They met as footwear buyers, developed a friendship that blossomed into romance, and got engaged in the Catskills over a cozy fireside dinner. Kerry and Morgan lived their own fairytale relationship story, and had their hearts set on exchanging vows surrounded by thousands of books, at the romantic Peabody Library in downtown Baltimore.
When COVID prolonged Peabody’s closure, we knew we had to find a way to incorporate their love for literature and history (Kerry was a Classics major in college) and recreate the romance of such an historic setting. Pivoting to The Baltimore Museum of Art turned out to be the perfect venue in which to design the ultimate fairytale wedding, with a “midnight in the garden” aesthetic.
Striving to surround their wedding guests with warmth and love, we created an inviting, candlelit atmosphere in (freezing) mid-January, overflowing with stunning warm-toned florals, found antique objects and books in table tableaux, delicious cuisine, and live string music. Brainstorming our seating display wall was an especially noteworthy project, inviting guests to “Bust a Move” and gifting them unique hand-painted busts with personalized calligraphy to find their dinner tables.
Merging a color palette of deep emerald, navy, and blush tones with opulent velvet and jacquard fabrics created a wintry yet luxe scene. Fairytale-inspired touches echoed through the invitation font style to Kerry’s fur shrug. All in all, Kerry and Morgan’s interest in detail and personalization felt like a warm hug for each and every guest, and we’re proud to share this stunning day. It was truly a memorable celebration for all involved!
