Baltimore Tented Wedding at Cylburn Arboretum–Isabel & Huff

From spending the morning getting ready at Sagamore Pendry to dancing the night away under a sailcloth tent outside of the Mansion at Cylburn Arboretum, Isabel and Huff’s wedding was a design dream. The list of tented wedding venues in Baltimore isn’t a long one, but we worked with Isabel and Huff for a year to plan and design the outdoor wedding of their dreams; technically, in Baltimore City.

Every detail was inspired by interior design and an effortlessly chic Restoration Hardware-meets-coastal California aesthetic. Shades of blue and warm neutrals formed our color palette, enhanced by fresh greenery and cream and white tones. Isabel wore a stunning Carolina Herrera gown from Mark Ingram in New York City, and sapphire earrings to coordinate with her custom engagement ring.

In a nod to their Covid-era elopement in Mexico, the couple chose to greet guests at cocktail hour with a mariachi band and margaritas inspired by their favorite luxury resort, Hotel Esencia. We worked closely with local Baltimore wedding calligrapher, Jess McSweeney, to have cocktail menus printed on linen fabric to hang from their wooden bar, and to print their wedding monogram on working lamps (purchased from Target)!

Both the cocktail hour and reception tents were positioned outside of the Mansion House at Cylburn Arboretum, surrounded by lush gardens and antique sculptures. A “Found Objects, Find Your Seat” creative seating display welcomed guests into the tented reception while helping them find their seating assignments for dinner. Neutral linen lounge vignettes from Something Vintage Rentals and vintage gold chandeliers enhanced the welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, and low floral arrangements with sandstone taper candles from Sophie Felts also created a warm feeling.

Guests danced into the evening with live music from Washington Talent Band, Millennium, who kept the music playing through dinner by splitting into smaller ensembles (which guests loved). The evening concluded with a champagne sabering–which was an event in itself (see the photos below)! We loved working with Isabel and Huff and are so glad they chose to hold their outdoor tented wedding at Baltimore wedding venue Cylburn Arboretum!
